Another busy week that ended in Sunday Funday... German classes started on Monday, we meet twice a week for about 2 1/2 hours. The teacher is great for me, he speaks mostly German, but is willing to explain in English when we all look at him with these blank stares. Work has been going well, I'm settling into my new office and we just finished the 2nd Quarter. I can't believe the year is half over, that just seems crazy! But, I guess that's just the way it goes, life is just flying by!
Ciara and I had a crazy annoying experience trying to fine the running store last Thursday. I have been there before, but went a different way. Long story short, it snowed all day, but we decided we would run to my house and then catch public down to the store to register for this race, pick up a few things and try on some winter clothes. Well, it took us nearly an hour to wander around this area searching for the store. Poor Ciara was in capri pants, it was probably below zero. It was SO cold and I wanted to hit things I was so frustrated. It didn't help that once we foudn the store, they couldn't find my race number, so I couldn't even pick up the chip I wanted to, go figure.
After the mess, I went to a friend's house for dinner, one drink turned into two, turned into Champagne, turned into great coversation... definitely a fun night! Dinner club week two went well.
We also had week two of running club. Again, awesome run, Starbucks and falafel. I could get used to that! Steph made a great dinner that night too, then a bunch of us got up and ran this race, you could select your own distance, 7km, 14km, or 21km. It was absolutely FREEZING cold out, people passed me on cross country skis at one point... but we all did it and were happy about getting out there, even with the cold and miserable conditions. Since I had run a super long run the day before, I thought I might take it easy, but once the race started, I got all weird and wanted to run a certain speed. I ended up running the "predicted speed" the Smart Coach on runners world thinks I can complete the marathon in. After doing it for 14km, all I can say is NO WAY! We'll see...
This week will be busy with German Class, friend's birthday and then this weekend we are going to go to the spa and then try to do some cross country skiing too! I'm super excited about it, I haven't gone forever, but think it's a great workout and I love the idea of getting out and doing something fun in the snow instead of staring at it an thinking it's pretty, or staring at it and thinking it's ruining my running schedule...
Oh, so Bridget hosted Sunday Funday this week and it was great! We ate delicious food, drank Champagne and wine then had some cake and banana bread. So fun!
Ah, what a rough life.
