Trying to slow down...

It's been a really busy month!

My mom came for about 10 days, we had a great time! I loved coming home and having her there. We kept pretty busy, we went to the beach, Abu Dhabi to see the mosque and Emirates Palace for lunch, Musandam dhow cruise, dinner cruise on the creek, tea at the Ritz, the weekend in Dibba, I really can't remember what else, but it was fun! I was so sad that she had to leave.

Soccer has been fun, we moved to a different division, which is better because it's harder, but we don't win all the time, and I like winning, well actually, I just hate losing. Some of the girls on the team have started coming to running club, which makes it more fun and we ran a 10k at Barasti yesterday morning. I've pretty much given up on my goal to do a pull up, I think it might actually be impossible unless I manage to lose about 65 pounds, which just doesn't seem reasonable.

This weekend is exhausting, I had a wine and cheese thing on Thursday, race on Friday morning, soccer thing last night and then heading to Abu Dhabi for the Coldplay concert in a few hours. I almost want to just stay home and catch up on some sleep and get ready for the week, but I'm sure that's not what's going to happen, I think there are 25 of us heading down in a school bus, should be interesting. I hope it doesn't rain. It was POURING at our soccer pool party last night, we ended up sitting in the towel hut thing most of the night. We took some pictures and we all look just great...

Work is still awful, I keep counting down the days until it's over, but don't want it to be over all at once. Makes no sense, but when does anything ever make sense. I'm trying to figure out what I want to do about housing in Vienna, one second I'm convinced I should fly there just to check things out, the next I want to just take one of the apartments they are suggesting for me, and then two minutes later I'm looking up all the different districts in Vienna and deciding that I will just get a one month rental and decide once I get there. Who knows.

Wednesday nights have turned into these hilarious "girls nights" which really just means a girlfriend and I pick a location and occasionally invite others to join us for wine, saltinis and long discussions about nothing. This week we went to three different places, the last one was like being in a normal bar at home, there was live music and normal people, no suits, no guys explaining to us how great they are, or how much money they make.

I was just on the phone forever talking to my sister trying to figure out our trip to the Philippines. For some reason I am having an impossible time trying to figure anything out, it's like I've never traveled before. We're leaving in less than a week and really have nothing planned yet. And, as usual, we can't seem to get in touch with my brother, I'm hoping we see him while we're there...
